001 - Network/action - Get along little dinosaurs?

[The network startles to life with a riot of noise. Shouts. Gunshots. The sound of large animals trumpeting and snarling.]

Some idiots decided to rile up the dinosaurs and they're currently stampeding through old town Chicago and the gangsters.. [Cue a pause to hear the sound of a tommy gun going off in the background] are taking exception to this. Anyone within the sound of my voice who can help get civilians out of harms way, I need you down here. Everyone else stay clear. I repeat stay clear!

[Dinosaurs and gangsters. Yep. He's got this.
He'd better because Oliver is up and moving back into the fray.

At least it's better than sitting around.]

Bart mostly wants to make sure whatever happens, nobody ends up with more than a few broken bones or a concussion. And he's already noticed Shadow doesn't have the discipline to rein it in. Keeping him where the trouble is under control is sorta key, and having someone with that kind of insight in animals makes him want to treat his friend more like Beast Boy.

"Don't mind Shadow, he's still kinda new, I think."

It wasn't that he didn't have his own joy in working on rescuing people, but he wants to also keep things upbeat and fun.

Hey, he's only new to the hero side of things. He's not so great at the part where you do things without mayhem. Thankfully Shadow has gotten the hang of steering the Trike, or so he thinks, when he rams into a car. And another car. And another. Whoops. He manages to redirect and get the thing headed towards the valley.

This is a job. A calling.
It's not fun. At least it never has been in Oliver's life. There are too many lives at stake, too many things that require absolute focus and discipline.

"He's a child," he grates out, charging towards another set of gangsters who are firing wildly at a particularly confused and very large dinosaur who doesn't seem to appreciate the noise or the sting of bullets.

Bart does his best to catch or deflect as many of the bullets to try to keep the poor dino from deciding its best move is to charge the things hurting it. It was a whiptail sauropod, which meant keeping that supersonic tail out of the fight was an important goal.

"Sooner or later we all learn how shitty the stakes are," he said, scowling at the bitter archer. "I'd rather let the cat out to play than risk adding another dangerous predator to the mix."

Shadow returned presently, at least not too long after Kid Flash started going up against the whip tail. He landed on the side of a building on all fours, observing the great beast. There's plenty of hesitation there since he's not really sure how to deal with such a massive animal. When he sees what Bart is up to, he decides to redirect his attention back against the gangsters. Diving down, he lands on the back of one of the gangsters backs throwing rocks at the dinosaurs since his gun had been confiscated. The 'child' seems to be quite adept at putting these mobsters in their place.
