001 - Network/action - Get along little dinosaurs?
[The network startles to life with a riot of noise. Shouts. Gunshots. The sound of large animals trumpeting and snarling.]
.. are you insane? STOP SHOOTING!
CRASH
Some idiots decided to rile up the dinosaurs and they're currently stampeding through old town Chicago and the gangsters.. [Cue a pause to hear the sound of a tommy gun going off in the background] are taking exception to this. Anyone within the sound of my voice who can help get civilians out of harms way, I need you down here. Everyone else stay clear. I repeat stay clear!
[Dinosaurs and gangsters. Yep. He's got this.
He'd better because Oliver is up and moving back into the fray.
At least it's better than sitting around.]

The shadows recede into a nearby alley way and move up the side of the wall, where all three of the men are ejected and thrown back to the ground, a few yards over Oliver's head. Following them, comes Shadow, leaping down into the fray. Unlike Bart however, he is less concerned with the actual task at hand, than he is having fun with the fight. What's next?

A growled curse as Shadow, of all people, goes bounding into the fight like it's playtime. Great. So he's not just a kid, he's an overcharged one. "What are you doing? This isn't a game!" Lives were on the line and it was his job to keep them on the living side of the equation.

"Watch the guns, Shadow," he calls, as one of the gangsters decides the black monster needs to be taken out, too. He tackles the guy, sending the spray of bullets wide, followed with a slam that leaves him out cold for the time being.
"And don't tell me you don't enjoy being able to let loose," Bart adds to the guy who sent out the call.

"Hey I'm just doing what I do best. Cover fire would be nice!" He calls back to Oliver with a broad toothy grin. Scanning the area, he spots one of the hired muscle types and springs into the air to close the distance. What he did best? Go after the meanest looking badguy and tear them down.

Then Shadow is moving again and Oliver is as well, drawing and firing two arrows at once to give him some measure of cover.

Not that he wants anyone harmed, which is pretty obvious from the way he's still blurring about and stripping away guns, making a pile of them off to one side, after pulling their drums and firing pins.
"One good thing about these, though. They do tend to jam before finishing their entire load. It's why the military never bothered with them."

"I'm on it." He says, then thinks about the remark regarding the gun.
"Can't you just pistol whip with them if they don't shoot?" And he drops down onto the back of the Trike, grabbing onto it's horns.
"Alright buddy! Work with me."

Overpowered children which makes it even worse.
Still. There's a job to be done and Oliver stuffs down everything but the fight, operating with laser like focus and precision. Taking down every threat that comes, getting people to safety. Bart and Shadow may think this is a game, but Oliver knows all to well what happens when you slip up because you weren't taking a moment as seriously as you should.

"Don't mind Shadow, he's still kinda new, I think."
It wasn't that he didn't have his own joy in working on rescuing people, but he wants to also keep things upbeat and fun.

And another. Whoops.
He manages to redirect and get the thing headed towards the valley.

It's not fun. At least it never has been in Oliver's life. There are too many lives at stake, too many things that require absolute focus and discipline.
"He's a child," he grates out, charging towards another set of gangsters who are firing wildly at a particularly confused and very large dinosaur who doesn't seem to appreciate the noise or the sting of bullets.

"Sooner or later we all learn how shitty the stakes are," he said, scowling at the bitter archer. "I'd rather let the cat out to play than risk adding another dangerous predator to the mix."

Diving down, he lands on the back of one of the gangsters backs throwing rocks at the dinosaurs since his gun had been confiscated. The 'child' seems to be quite adept at putting these mobsters in their place.
